ECHO Paso Robles has moved the daily meal service provided by Paso Cares to the new ECHO facility located in the former Motel 6 at 1134 Black Oak Drive in Paso Robles. Individuals and families that are facing hunger and homelessness can now receive a to-go style meal in the newly created food service area of the Paso Robles facility. This new meal service will be managed by ECHO and will replace the meal service that was previously offered at the corner of Riverside and 24th in Paso Robles.
Homeless Services in North County takes another step forward in serving a vulnerable population of the homeless in our community. In November, the city of Paso Robles contracted with El Camino Homeless Organization (ECHO) to provide services to community members who are experiencing homelessness. During the same timeframe, ECHO also began more one-to-one outreach with people experiencing homelessness and are considered unsheltered living on the streets, in encampments and out of their cars throughout North County.
ECHO Expands to Paso Robles with New Homeless Services Center
The new facility, named First Step Homeless Services Center, will be complete with 36 beds for individual and family sleeping areas, a dining room and full kitchen, restrooms and shower facilities, a gathering area, a laundry room and staff offices.
ECHO has successfully provided homeless services from a 50 bed shelter in Atascadero for almost two decades. They will provide day-to-day management of the First Step Homeless Services Center.
On Saturday, September 28th, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. ECHO will hold its 8th Annual Long Walk Home event. Long Walk Home is ECHO Homeless Shelter’s Awareness March representing the walk that people facing homelessness make every day in their search for permanent housing.
The El Camino Homeless Organization has been approved for a gift of $130,000 from must! charities. must! charities invests strategically with existing non-profits, funding organizations who are the most effective at dealing with our greatest community needs. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the organization gives more love to ECHO for a new kitchen and training facility with their generosity.
ECHO Homeless Shelter is pleased to announce it has received a $10,000 grant from The Community Foundation through the 2019 Community Needs Grant program. The grant will help support shelter operations and add additional services from January through June 2019.
ECHO Receives Community Grant From JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery
The El Camino Homeless Organization has received a $5,000 Community Grant from JUSTIN Vineyards and Winery. The JUSTIN Community Grant program selects non-profits in North County that strive to make the community a better place to live, work, and raise families. The grant will be used for operating support to sustain all shelter operations and services in 2019.
ECHO Receives Central Coast Funds for Children Grant
The El Camino Homeless Organization has received a grant of $3,000 from Central Coast Funds for Children. Central Coast Funds for Children provides grants to children’s service organizations to help the children of San Luis Obispo County.
